Baby Room Daily Routine for Ages 0–2 Years

A nurturing, structured day designed to support your baby’s development through sensory play, outdoor exploration and homemade wholesome meals.

At Forest Village Kindergarten in Morden, we follow a gentle daily routine that carefully balances rest, play, nourishment and learning. As a result, your baby benefits from the consistency and nurturing care they need to thrive. Our Baby Room Daily Schedule

  • 8:00 – 8:30
    Arrival & Settling In
    Greet parents, comfort babies, free play with soft toys.
  • 8:30 – 9:00
    Breakfast
    Nutritious breakfast for older infants.
  • 9:00 – 9:30
    Sensory & Exploration Time
    Messy play, sensory baskets, tummy time.
  • 9:30 – 10:00
    Nappy Changes & Toileting
    Individual care routines.
  • 10:00 – 10:30
    Circle Time / Songs
    Short group time with rhymes, puppets, or story.
  • 10:30 – 11:15
    Outdoor Play / Walks
    Pram walks, garden play, or fresh air activities.
  • 11:15 – 11:30
    Nappy Changes
    Before lunch.
  • 11:30 – 12:00
    Lunch
    Healthy homemade meals served together.
  • 12:00 – 2:00
    Nap Time / Quiet Time / Sensory Play
    Soft music, dim lights, comforters, milk. Sensory play for those not sleeping.
  • 2:00 – 2:30
    Nappy Changes & Snack
    Healthy snack and water.
  • 2:30 – 3:15
    Creative Play
    Painting, playdough, musical instruments.
  • 3:15 – 3:45
    Outdoor Play / Movement Activities
    Crawling tunnels, push toys, or garden time.
  • 3:45 – 4:00
    Story & Wind Down
    Calm activities before home time.
  • 4:00 – 6:00
    Light Tea / Free Play & Pick-Up
    Flexible activities until collection.

Our Approach to Baby Care

  • First and foremost, routines are kept flexible to accommodate individual nap schedules, feeding needs and comfort requirements.
  • In addition, we create individual care plans for each baby so that every child receives truly personalised attention.
  • Furthermore, sensory and creative activities are rotated weekly in order to keep engagement, curiosity and development high.
  • As part of our outdoor philosophy, we go outside every day in all weathers — because fresh air and nature are central to everything we do.
  • Finally, all meals are homemade, wholesome and free from refined sugar and excessive salt, so your baby eats well every single day.
